The Visualization Toolkit (VTK) at NERSC

The Visualization Toolkit, VTK, is a collection of class libraries that are intended to be used by developers to create finished visualization applications. VTK by itself is not an application. VTK is officially listed as unsupported at NERSC as it is a large, complex Open Source tool for which support is available from the user community.

We at NERSC assume that VTK users will have access to resources at their respective sites for VTK support.

The current version of VTK installed on Escher is 2.3, which is very old.

Accessing VTK

On escher, use the modules facility as follows:

    % module load vtk
